Navigating the Course
This unit has been developed to provide you with a strong introduction to university and to develop your own research and analysis skills. These skills form the foundation of all university study. One of the great things about studying online is that you can work independently: when you want and (within reason!) where you want. With this in mind, we provide most of the materials you need to complete this course on this site. There is no hard copy print out for this course.
Important material
The following information will assist you to locate important material:
The course materials have been organised into a Study Guide. Weekly content which includes a tutorial, tasks and readings. You can locate the Study Guide via the Home link in the course navigation menu.
There are no lectures or online tutorial times: the written material, in conjunction with tutor contact on the Discussion Board (accessed via the Discussions link in the course navigation menu), conveys the course content to you.
A Unit Outline is located in the Unit Details module. This document provides you with an overview of the course's objectives, assessment, and policy and procedure guidelines.
Readings are listed in the weekly tutorials in the Modules area and are available under the Readings link on the course navigation menu.
Criteria Sheets for the written assessment items (Critical Analysis and Research Report) are located in the submission points in the Assessment Task modules for each assessment item. You can access information about assessment via the Assessment Overview page in the Unit Details module.
