Can I apply for special consideration?
Updated 11/05/2023 10.45 AM
You can apply for special consideration if your performance in an assessment item was seriously affected, or you were seriously disadvantaged when attempting the assessment item.
Acceptable grounds for application
Grounds for special consideration, and associated supporting documentation, could include the following:
illness—medical certificate
temporary disability—medical certificate
bereavement—bereavement notice or officially signed statutory declaration
technical difficulties that seriously affected your performance when an assessment item was attempted or submitted—timestamped screenshot, proof of help request, officially signed statutory declaration
other compassionate circumstances (for example: serious illness of a family member or close relative) - officially signed statutory declaration.
Students who need to apply for an assessment application on medical grounds due to testing positive to COVID-19 but are unable to obtain a medical certificate, can provide documentation of a positive Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) or Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) test from a relevant state government health authority (e.g Qld Health).
You can find more information at Assessment Applications.
