SUBMISSION AND RETURN OF ASSESSMENT ITEMS
Assessment Submission: It is a requirement that all students read this information.
All assignment submission in this subject is electronic. Printed assignments will not be marked: do
not submit assignments by post or they will not be marked, and you will not be contacted to
submit electronically. Posted assignments will receive a Fail grade.
Students are to submit assignments online via the Learning@Griffith website for this subject, through
the assignment submission link within the Assessment link.
To check that you have correctly submitted your assignment, you need to go back to the submission
point and “View Submission”. If you can see your file attached there, then you have submitted
correctly.
Do not email teachers to check if your submission has been successful – it is your responsibility to
check using the ‘View Submission’ process and use help resources provided to check.
If you are not confident with computers or uploading files, then you should call IT Help on (07)
3735 5555 and ask them to talk you through the uploading process.
Be aware that support staff may not be able to get back to you on the day an assignment is due as they
experience a surge of questions from students on due dates.
NOTE: Full uploading instructions are provided in the Assessment link.
Submitted assignments will be recorded as received at Griffith University and then forwarded to a
tutor for marking. On return of the marked assignment Griffith University will record the mark
awarded and return the assignment to the student through the Assessment portal. Students are expected
to retrieve their feedback from the submission point. It is expected that assignments will normally
be recorded, marked and returned within three weeks from the date of submission.
PROBLEMS UPLOADING?
If you encounter problems with uploading assignments on the due date, you may need to secure
technical assistance to complete the upload process. Bear in mind that all websites can suffer under
heavy traffic, and that mark centres tend to operate slowly in peak assessment submission periods.
We advise you in the strongest possible terms to submit before 3pm on the due date so that if you
encounter difficulties you can contact Griffith’s technical support (IT Help: 07 3735 5555 Mon-Fri 9-
5pm AEST) if you find yourself unable to upload your assessment item on the day it is due.
Do not email tutors or the convenor to check if the assignment has been received – check back at
the submission point (where you uploaded the assignment). If necessary, contact Learning@Griffith
support staff at IT Help on: 07 3735 5555.
System maintenance is also often undertaken on weekends and this can prevent a late assignment from
being uploaded in the weekend after an assignment is due.
